The book nears completion!

So, how was October?

It’s been a productive month, I’ve almost finished The Nice Guy and the Devil, I’m into the last few chapters. For a while it has felt like I would never finish it, but now I know it’s just a matter of days. This is the period when you think it’s terrible and will never be as good as the previous book. I’m looking forward to the point when I re-read it and go, “You know what, this isn’t half bad, with some work it’ll be a decent novel.”

I’ve also been proof-listening to the audiobook of The Forbidden Zone, which is finally in production and the narrator is doing an incredible job with it. He has managed to enhance the book with his performance into something better than it is on the page. So, look out for that some time in November.

This month I’ve discovered the wonders of Maison de Sassy cider. I’m already a cider fan, but the Sassy stuff is particularly refreshing. Sadly, I don’t seem to get to drink as many cocktails as I did before there were three of us in the apartment.

I’m reading Five Little Pigs at the moment, and enjoying it, of course. My TBR pile continues to grow though…

The left stack are all Dean Koontz

…and that doesn’t include any of the Agatha Christies I still have to read. My daughter, Ariadne, continues to grow as well.

If you’re in the UK, I hope you’re surviving the current political crises without your faith in humanity being too much diminished. And if you’re outside the UK, I hope you’re having a good laugh at us.

Here’s to November! 🍻

All my best,

Tom
